Edgbaston Stadium Masterplan
We are holding a public consultation on plans to enhance one of the world’s leading cricket stadiums with a new hotel, stand and hospitality facilities, delivering investment and opportunity for the local community.
Following the successful completion of the first two phases of the Edgbaston Masterplan to transform the stadium into a multi-use sports, commercial and community complex, Warwickshire County Cricket Club (WCCC) is now bringing forward proposals for Phase 3 – the redevelopment of the popular Raglan and Priory Stands and the construction of a brand new 4-star hotel.
The improved stand - which will have the same capacity as the old Raglan and Priory stands – will include a new concourse with enhanced food and drink and hospitality facilities, plus improved accessibility for disabled spectators.
Operated by Radisson Hotel Group, a new Radisson RED hotel, restaurant and bar will be incorporated into the redeveloped stand. This investment will create 134 permanent jobs.
Before finalising and submitting the planning application to Birmingham City Council, WCCC is inviting the community to comment on the plans and share your feedback.
On this website you can find more detail about the proposals, read our FAQs and learn about our consultation process to date.
The hotel will offer a new pitch-facing restaurant and bar, with a terrace and convertible boxes for spectators.
The feedback period closed on 22 August 2024, to give our project team time to consider and respond to it before submitting a full planning application to Birmingham City Council. A summary of the feedback received and our response will be included as part of this application.
